Our History
Diablo Valley Bill's Tire Service (aka Bill's Tire) was founded by Bill Calkins in the early 1970s out of his home in Concord CA and by the mid-70s the company had its brick & mortar shop. By the 1980s, Bill's Tire was the place to go. It was even the favorite place to stop for famous music stars; they would often be seen getting their tour bus tires checked on the way to the Concord Pavillion. It's still the place to go for tires or just to hang out and look at all the memorabilia. The Tire Shop is still a family run business and with the passing of Bill, the next generation of family is guiding this iconic piece of local history. Stop by, get some tires and say hello to Roger and tell old stories about Bill. There are a million stories to be told and cherished.
Community & Uniqueness
Bill's Tire has an incredible 50-year history. Bill was often seen driving one of his antique firetrucks in a local parade or riding a horse to a local bar. Supporting a community event was always a priority for Bill's Tire and still is today. Bill sponsored many drivers over the years putting tires on their racecars and could be seen lending a helping hand in the pits. Visiting the tire shop will give you a sense of our history and community participation, come see the memorabilia hanging and displayed everywhere. It's a working tire shop and a fun place to be.
